Masters for Montblanc Meisterstück Firenze Collection

With timeless elegance and innovative functionality, the Montblanc Meisterstück has been synonymous with the finest craftsmanship for over 90 years. The latest addition to the Masters for Meisterstück collection - a collection that conveys the excellence of Montblanc’s most iconic writing instrument through the traditions of master craftsmen of different metiers - honours the supreme leather craftsmanship of Florence. An elegant collection of writing instruments and a matching leather accessory created in collaboration with outstanding artisans captures the rich history, artistic traditions and incomparable style of the Tuscan city, once the centre of the Italian Renaissance.

Evoking Florence’s reputation as the cradle of superior leather artisanship and home to the Montblanc Pelletteria, the Meisterstück fountain pen and the Meisterstück rollerball in LeGrand size from the Masters for Meisterstück Firenze collection are elegantly enveloped in brown leather. With the knowledge and skills handed down from generation to generation, artisans have sheathed the cap and barrel in the finest full-grain cowhide, masterfully finished with hand-stitched seams.

Many delicate design details pay homage to the landmarks of the city of Florence, from the stylised silhouette of the famous cathedral Santa Maria del Fiore embossed onto the leather of the cap to the intricate engraving of the celebrated Ponte Vecchio arch bridge with its characteristic arches etched on the platinum-plated cone. The rhodium-plated nib – the heart and soul of every Montblanc fountain pen – is carefully crafted and polished by hand out of Au750 gold. Beneath Montblanc’s signature 4810 engraving, the nib is adorned with the distinctive outline of the cupola of the cathedral Santa Maria del Fiore. Crowning the writing instrument, the Montblanc emblem, symbol of the pinnacle of European is made of precious mother-of-pearl. A precious writing instrument inspired by the skilled artisans of Florence requires an equally special pen pouch to protect it. Crafted from the same lustrous brown colour as the cap and barrel of the writing instruments, the pen pouch perfectly matches both the fountain pen and the rollerball of the Masters for Meisterstück Firenze collection. The pen pouch features the Montblanc emblem on the front and the most famous structure in Florence – the distinctive cupola of the cathedral Santa Maria del Fiore – embossed on the top.

Presented in a decorative wooden gift box, the writing instruments from the Masters for Meisterstück Firenze collection are unique in the world of fine writing with their hand-stitched seams and contrasting platinum-plated fittings with their elaborate engravings. These handcrafted masterpieces honour the painstaking workmanship and stylish flair that put Florence leather artisanship, past and present, in a league of its own. They are available from October 2015 in Montblanc boutiques worldwide. For further information, visit www.montblanc.com
