Last week I was invited to attend round 1 of Lux beauty gallery, which was held at Libra boutique Jeddah. As Lux always cares about beauty and fashion,  Lux organized a competition for 12 Lux fans from around the region whom will get a chance to showcase their designs on the Lux runway with two final winners to be selected by the judges for a chance to win AED/SAR 100,000 which will support them with the launch of their personal fashion business.

In order to judge the designs, Lux has partnered with established and international fashion designer, Abed Mahfouz, to be the lead judge at the Lux Beauty Gallery, who will be joined with regional designer and blogger  Alanoud Badr and Rotana TV presenter Jeehan Alheddawi.

Can't wait to attend the second round that will be held in Dubai soon. Good luck for all the contestants.

A Ramadan Thobe with a twist

Thobes or Jalabyas have become synonymous with Ramadan, it started with the Gulf and Saudi Arabia, as it was part of their culture till recently it became somehow popular in Egypt as well. I am sure you have seen a lot of pretty kaftans everywhere this year, but today I am bringing you a very talented designer that has taken the thobes to another level.

Saudi designer Turk Jadallah the founder and the designer behind OT Kutyr fashion house is very famous for his outstanding Haute Couture line, he has dressed celebrities at the Carnival of Cannes, and he is very well known for his sophisticated designs, however this Ramadan Jadallah launched his latest Ramadan 2013 collection, which consist of 10 different jumpsuits using different fabrics such . The jumpsuits are mainly black and off white with golden embroidered pieces topping them, which for some pieces he used the gold metals studs which are trending these days. Going through his unusual collection for Ramadan this year, Turki says: ‘the jumpsuit is more practical than the Jalabyas and Thobes, it can be worn in Ramadan and after it at any occasion during the whole year, and that encouraged me to use both the black and off white. And I aim to encourage the young ladies to revive our traditions and heritage that the modern fashion trends have taken them away from.

Eid Shopping in Coach

It's that time of the year, where every Arab girl goes crazy shopping her Eid outfit. I am just like any other girl now, roaming the walls of malls looking for the perfect outfit. So I decided to take you with me shopping this year because I will be bored doing all that shopping by my self. First stop looking for a killer bag. I stopped by Coach, and I really love Coach, so trendy and more than amazing quality leather, I particularly loved their last couple of collections. They successfully emerged from a brand for the young girls and chic working girls, to a premium standard.

Their accessories also are very unique, from head scarves, to bracelets to wallets, etc. Also their men collection is to die for, if you are looking for a gift for you man, for his birthday, anniversary, Valentine's, etc. go check their men's collection, beautiful I specially loved the laptop bags.

*All images belong to Chanel, Cupcakes, Cameras and Crayons.

These bags are very comfortable for traveling you put your passport, money, ticket and you put it on and forget you even carrying anything.

Just Cavalli new Fragrance

Have you smelled the new Just Cavalli Fragrance? If you haven't, then you are missing so much. Its amazing T.V ad made me curious to smell it, so I went to the shop to smell it and went back home with two bottles one for me and one for my mum.

I am so bad when it comes to describe scents, but I tell you whenever I smell this perfume I smell fun, it has a little note of everything flowers, freshness and a hint of spices. The bottle is so girlish, it's pink and gold with a strip of pink python looks so good on my vanity..

Shop the Royal Baby Look

It's a boy. The royal baby madness has taken the world by storm, everyone is posting that photo of Kate carrying the new England king to be and the crown prince Vs an old photo of Lady Diana carrying prince william, where both mommies were dressed in polka dots dresses.

So inspired by the royal baby madness, what else should we shop for our own kids other than Burberry.  Personally Burberry is one of my first choices when I go shopping for my own son. Check out the incredible Burberry collection from  melijoe.com, they ship to the Middle East and have amazing pieces that you can't find easily anywhere else.

Secret Treasures by Swarovski

Last month I attended the launch of Swarovski  Fall/Winter 2013/14 collection at the Voda bar in Zabeel Saray hotel in Dubai. The collection varies from a wide range of easy-to-wear jewelry pieces and accessories highlight her style, and add sparkle, a touch of glamour and a personal signature to her look.

Loved the Venue

Nathalie Colin has designed a collection named "Secret Treasures," reminiscent of a journey. Inspired by the Silk Road, this collection is built around four legendary locations, each of which holds treasures of tradition and beauty. From China to the Himalayas and from India to Venice.

From China, Swarovski has adopted the symbolism of yin and yang, illustrated by the Stone theme.

In the Himalayas, nature's majesty can be felt. Mountains, forests, and glaciers leave a mineral imprint on creations with organic lines, of which the Vita line is a perfect example.

An abundance of colors, silk with a thousand and one reflections, the richness of gold, and the wonder of precious stones: India's influence leaves its ornamental and exuberant mark. By inviting the talented Shourouk to design some pieces for the collection, Nathalie Colin has initiated a new collaboration with the world of fashion. Shourouk is familiar with the company because she has used crystals on her own creations in the past, and has now designed an imposing necklace Swarovski by Shourouk, that is nonetheless flexible and mounted on cord. With its bib form embroidered with crystals, this necklace imparts sophistication to any outfit, day or night.

Venetian inspiration floats a veil of baroque mystery over these highly refined pieces, which evoke the magnificence of palaces and colors shrouded in the mist.
