Unforgettable Diner in Cafe Belge

Last April, I had thepleasure to stay for my birthday weekend at the great Ritz Carlton, Read Review HERE. I had the chance to try the somehow recently opened Cafe Belge. Stepping into Cafe Belge is like leaving Dubai and entering into an old19th century cafe in Belgium or in Paris. The interiors was mainly wood with brown leather seatings, and dim lights..works well for a romantic dinner. It has a huge indoors seating and realtively big outdoors section with live DJ everyday.

The menu is huge and  diverse, however Cafe Belge is well know of it fine selection of seafood dishes. But unfortunately we arrived late to diner, and Seafood chef was about to leave. So we went for the next best thing, the Wagyu beef, and if you don't know what is Wagyu, it is a good cut from organic feed Japanese meat, the best in the world.  Me and Hesham ordered two burgers and Pineapple juice, I love the mix of beef and pineapple together, if you haven't tried it, please do it is so highly recommended. The burgers were literally melting in our mouths. My husband is a big burger eater, and he has eaten in a lot of places all around the world, but he commented that was one of the best he had ever tasted. I wanted to try some of the desserts but I was so full with a huge burger a side salad and fries.

My Can't Leave The House Without Product

On a one good day I decided to go pamper myself a little bit in the spa, so I went to have an oxygen facial to deeply moisturize my face, as the last period I was noticing that my face has become dry at the last period of time. When the tough tempered Russian beautician started applying the cleanser on my face, she noticed how dry my face was, she kept on asking me a lot of questions
about my daily beauty routine, and my lifestyle. It turned out that I don’t drink enough water (you are supposed to drink at least 8 full glasses of water every day, seriously who could do that, whoever does that, I am sure he spends the other part of the day at the loo. Other thing that increases the dryness of the face, is staring to the laptops/TVs screens more than 8 hours a day, which I over exceed significantly. But when it came to the question do you apply a sunscreen before going out every day, hearing my answer, the beautician showed her aggressive Russian side, she was nearly shouting to me, hearing that

I never wear sun screen except by the beach or if I am wearing makeup already containing a protecting SPF. She said that the main reason behind my dry skin is not wearing SPF fortified cream every day and that the sun heat takes away all the moisture from my skin, and dries it out, and by time it has become sensitive that it turned red ,oh silly me I thought that was a natural blush. The beautician warned me that if I didn’t act immediately, and start taking care of my skin, some pre mature wrinkles will start on appearing starting from the area around the mouth then it will start increasing bit by bit over the years.

Adding to the wrinkles she said that those harmful sun rays can cause also dark blemishes and spots that can easily ruin your skin colour, or God forbid can cause in some cases skin cancer, which has spread abundantly in our time, and it main factors is exposing to sun without protection between the time of 10 am till 3 pm. And to be honest unless you are a vampire, no one can really obliged to stay home away from the sun during that time, it’s crucial time during the middle of any working day, and even on a day off you will still have to go out for any reason, if not for the beach which is even more dangerous, since the sea waters reflect the sunrays and can cause severe damage.

Horrified from what I heard, I rushed home running for the nearest laptop – ignoring what she told me about the harmful screen rays whatsoever- I can live with one small wrinkle but I can’t live without my internet. I stayed for hours reading review about the best sunscreen that you can wear with or without make up and won’t show or bother you with its smell all the day long. I came across the Chanel UV essential sunscreen and anti-pollution lotion; I read a lot of reviews saying it’s one of the best products in this category. So I purchased, it is of course a little expensive for sunscreen but it has a lot of benefits that makes you not feel guilty after purchasing. First it’s so light weighted, its smell is really good, matte and not greasy, can be worn alone or with makeup, it won’t make your foundation cake. And it has some anti-bacterial functions so it will help your face stay fresh all day long, perfect if you suffer from acne or pimples, yes it won’t help but it won’t make it worse, as it won’t break you out or increase sebum secretion. Plus all of that the bottle looks really luxurious and after all it’s CHANEL.

An Unforgettable Birthday Weekend at The Ritz Cartlon

It's not every month a girl celebrates her birthday, right ? So as April's my birthday month, born on April's first, and no it's not April's fool. My husband surprised me with tickets for Dubai to attend the fashion forward festival, which is of course a must attend event for me, and for any fashion editor or blogger in general. It was an incredible trip, celebrating my birthday with my husband and my best friend (who now lives in Dubai) attending amazing shows, meeting new people, and gaining a lot of new friends. And to top the perfect Birthday weekend, we were invited to stay at the magnificent Ritz Carlton, DIFC.

The DIFC is one of the most amazing parts in Dubai, and m top favourite area to hangout by day and night. See by day, I love to go by day to have a quick lunch at the busy lunch break, then I would go to one of the art galleries or auction halls there, or maybe grab a hot chocolate or fresh juice and chill by the green area there and enjoy some sun (in winter only of course). By night I would go with my girl friends or husband to have a nice elegant dinner, or go for some drink at the so many amazing cool places there. Also this area are full with decent hair and nails salons, and has so many things going there everyday all the days.

The Ritz Carlton is the only hotel by the DIFC, so when I knew I will be staying at the Ritz, I was like WOW and when I knew it is in the DIFC, I was like please double that WOW :) As soon as our car stopped by the Ritz doors, we were  received  by a warm welcome by the cheerful doormen to the concierge to the beautiful receptionist. We stayed at the residency suites, which is more like a medium sized apartment with a huge bedroom, walk in closet, a huge bathroom where there are both a huge bathtub and a shower, where all the toiletries are from the luxurious Aspery London. There is another guest bathroom by the living room. The kitchen is something else, equipped by the best kitchenware you can possibly need for cooking a festive meal, a dishwasher, stove, microwave, toaster, etc. and with a washing machine as well. I love how you have your own Nspresso machine with a set of complimentary Nspersso coffee, and a wide selection of teas.

As soon as I entered our room, I was touch by an amazing gesture the hotel, by the living room, there were a plate of fine chocolates, and an amazing personalized setup just for me.. Chanel Cupcakes, Cameras and Crayons. I was so touched that I teared , I can't really thank them enough for all of the effort they did to drew a smile on my face on such a special occasion for me.

After I rested I toured the hotel, this amazing hotel has the best smell in the world, I know you will think I am crazy but they spray something that smells so good, and actually makes you feel happy, you know my story with scents, I have posted about it before. The hotel has a straight connection to the DIFC, so perfect stay if you are having business by the DIFC or just love to hang out there like me. It has a lot of terraces overlooking the DIFC, where you can smoke shisha by night and enjoy some good music played by a great DJ. Guests can enjoy a beautiful gym with indoors pool. The outdoors pool is something else it overlooks the perfect Dubai Skyline and you can order food and drink at that time. The hotel also has a numerous number of amazing restaurant. The Blue Rain, which is a Thai restaurant, A steak restaurant ( The Center Cut) where you have breakfast by day and open for lunch and dinner afterwards, and then the magnificent Cafe Belge where I had unbelievably delicious dinner at, but I will post about it in the next post.

How cute, they gave us chocolates after the breakfast
I loved that the Ritz is always borrowing unique artistic pieces from Opera Gallery in the DIFC, to display it by their halls. So if you are an art lover like me, you will just love your walk from the room to the restaurant everyday, or if you are a bit lazy to walk down to the galleries in the DIFC.

The Salon near the spa

That sculpture is so touching

There are two Salons annexed to the hotel, at the very famous Lebanese salon Joe Raad, which I did my hair at, for the FFWD final night.I also had the chance to try the spa,and will post about it in another post, as I just can't describe how great it was in this already long post.
