If you are heading to the Spa this weekend. Stop! It's time for a little detour. Head to the near herbalist and get some natural oil, and then go indulge your self in a home-treatment or massage. Usually any herbalist will have different types of oils, that you can safely use on your skin or hair. cheerfully the 100 ml oil vessel can cost around 10-20 EG, a very good price that you can pay double or triple it, just to park your car outside the Spa. Honestly I don't have nothing against Spas, I love spas and the feeling of richness and indulgence they give me. But it is nice to try something cheap and 100% natural from time to time, and I happened to love hanging by the herbalist with my mum, checking out what they have and asking the salesmen zillion questions. I am a pharmacist as you may know and herbal medicine was part of my study.
For centuries Egyptian women were solely using natural home-made traditional beauty methods. I got some advices from my mum some from my aunts or friends and some from my pharmaceutical studies, I tried some oils and I was amazed by the results, but I can't lie; I completely hate the greasy feeling of the oil touching my skin.
Almond oil: for deep moisturizing and help in preventing stretch marks, and so safe to use during pregnancy and lactation.
Olive oil: I don't really need to tell you, Everyone knows that Olive is the best moisturizer ever for both skin and hair, and can act as a good makeup removal too.
Extract of garlic oil: this thing is like a magic for falling hair, but I can't stand the garlic smell, but it can work wonders to excessively shading hair.
Argan or Morracon oil: if you can find it at your herbalist shop, then you are one of the luckiest persons on planet and you need to tell me his address right away, it seems the Argan oil now days is more expensive than gold, this oil is the solution to all hair problems, split ends, coarse hair, tangles or dryness.
Castor oil : for thicker eyelashes or eye brows or if you want to cause someone chronic diarrhea, just kidding
Carrot oil: for perfect tan without sun exposure.
Avocado oil: apply on wrinkles.
Peppermint oil: for curing Eczema and is perfect for massaging your skin, it open pores and gives you a cool sensation but my advice don't use in winter it will make you feel terribly cold, best for hot sweaty summer days.
I hope I was helpful to you, and don't worry all these oils are completely safe, if they didn't benefit" which I doubt", they won't harm at all. Try something from them this valentine's day, and save your spa money to get your other half a nice gift. You can find all these oils except for Argan at Khedr or Ragab El Atar. with branches all over Egypt.
